Palestinian terrorist crosses border, kills soldier

A Palestinian terrorist snuck across the border Friday and killed an Israeli Defense Forces soldier in what appears to be an attempted abduction during the early morning hours, reports the Times of Israel.

21 year old Staff Sergeant Netanel Moshiashvili was killed in a shoot out with the Gaza-based militant near the border with Israel. So too was the 23 year old infiltrator identified as Ahmed Abu Nasser. In accordance with Jewish law, Moshiashvili was immediately buried in his hometown of Ashkelon ahead of Shabbat,

Following the death of Moshiashvili, an Islamic Jihad spokesman, who at first had claimed responsibility for what he called, “a heroic act,” denied the terrorist organization had anything to do with the murder at all.

Meanwhile, The IDF has laid blame on Hamas, launching retaliatory Air Force strikes against Gaza which was matched by two mortars being lobbied into Israel by the terrorist group. No Israelis were injured, but alert levels have been raised in the south.
